After starter Jake Thompson was chased from the game today, the Phillies ran out a quintet of relievers that were nothing short of disastrous. The score ended 17-0 in favor of the Mets and the Phils are left wondering just how bad can this bullpen be.

Pete Mackanin filled out his lineup card before Thursday night’s 15-2 loss to Pittsburgh and left off the name of Ryan Howard.
MIAMI – Aaron Altherr and Odubel Herrera tossed their batting helmets after the eighth inning of a 6-0 loss to Miami and handed them to their base coaches. Another rally came up empty and two more runners were left stranded Wednesday night.
SAN DIEGO – Twenty two pitches into his major-league career, Jake Thompson glanced at the Phillies dugout and saw his new pitching coach, Bob McClure, coming toward him. Thompson, 22 and wide-eyed, arrived here as a touted prospect. The game humbled him within minutes.
