UFC Career Fighter Earnings

Which fighter has earned the most money over the course of their UFC career?  We’ve crunched the numbers and have the answer for you.  And the names at the top of the list probably won’t surprise many. But, before we reveal the list, first some ground rules.  Athletic commissions didn’t start releasing fighter purse info until 2004, so the info below only reflects money earned from UFC 46 and onward.  Also, these are only the reported salaries plus Fight of the Night, Knockout of the Night and Submission of the Night bonuses that have been made public.  Many top performing fighters get additional bonuses paid out to them that aren’t reported, plus the top guys get a cut of the pay-per-view buys for events that they headline (not to mention every fighter makes sponsorship money).  Official UFC Reebok sponsorship money was added into the figures starting with UFC 189.  Also, many athletic commissions don’t report fighter’s salary info, so for those we’ve estimated a fighter’s purse based on what they have earned in their other fights.  Fighters with some estimated purses are marked with a * in the database.  This data should still be considered very close to accurate, as most fighters’ purses remain rather predictable from fight to fight (unless they ink a new contract in the meantime)

The Twins are almost in the playoffs

People have been waiting all season for the Twins to finally fall apart and fade from the playoff rate. Twins brass thought the fade was happening before the trade deadline, and started selling off  After they were swept in New York, it seemed as though the fade was finally happening, but in the mean time, the next closest contender, the Los Angeles Angels, were losing at a similar pace. Now, after a couple of games against the Tigers, it seems as though the fade has been allayed

Last Week in Angels Baseball: The “!!!” Edition

By Glen McKee, Staff Writer Believe it not, there isn’t a whole lot of preparation for writing this column.  I give it a bit of thought during the games throughout the week.  Then, on Monday morning when I take my dogs for a walk I try to solidify it and see what sticks in my head, in between finding dead bodies, loose cash, tools, and golf balls

Quality over Quantity: Why the Indians Should Drop their Second DSL Team

If you are a regular reader of Burning River Baseball, you’re probably not only aware that the Cleveland Indians have a Dominican Summer League team (the DSL Indians), but that they added a second one this season by combining with the Brewers to make the DSL Indians-Brewers. This is not uncommon in a league where many teams share facilities and quite a few have two full squads including the Reds, Mets, Rangers, Phillies, Rays, Cubs, Dodgers, Astros and Diamondbacks.
