While there is unfortunately no baseball being played during the winter months, we normally have the Hot Stove to keep us warm with endless rumors and huge contracts being handed out by teams who will inevitably regret it. Until this past winter, that is. The free agent market just wasn’t any good , and Yoenis Cespedes was the only player on the open market to secure a guarantee above $100 million (four years, $110 million, to be exact )
We all remember when Tony Romo gave that incredibly moving speech about how he was passing the torch to rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, after having previously been the team’s signal-caller since 2003. Romo said all the right things, and had fans feeling bad for him, and also having a lot of respect for Romo in the way he handled the situation. But it sure looks like he was just trying to avoid being a distraction with the season going on, and the Cowboys looking to make a playoff push.

In his second season with the San Antonio Spurs, 27-year old guard Jonathon ‘the Juice’ Simmons has carved a role for himself in the Spurs’ rotation, as he usually checks into games to give Kawhi Leonard a break, while he runs as the backup three with the Spurs’ second unit. On a nightly basis, Simmons is the Spurs’ 7 th playmaker with a usage percentage of 17.7% of the team’s possessions on offense.
Roy Williams is 66 years of age, and he can dance better than I can, which I’m not even ashamed to admit. We’ve all seen his eccentric yet classy suits he can pull off wearing during games, but we don’t usually see him show much emotion on or off the court. Williams is usually cool, calm and collected.
FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Phillies slogged here Saturday on a 300-mile, round-trip bus ride for yet another nine-inning audition to see who might fill the fringes of the roster. They have evaluated those in camp for six weeks now, and Pete Mackanin said a meeting scheduled Sunday with the front office will plot most of the 25-man roster that the Phillies will take to Cincinnati next week.
Ivan Barbashev made his NHL debut with the Blues back on January 26th against the Columbus Blue Jackets. At the time, Barbashev was called up as an injury replacement for Kyle Brodziak and the plan called for him to split time with Wade Megan. A lot can change in just two months.
Omgosh! The Blue Jays blew it! With two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, the Blue Jays gave up two runs to the Yankees. They lost today’s game by a final score of 6-5. I know: another meaningless Spring Training game, but the Blue Jays lost.
