There’s no way the Celtics can lose to the Hornets tonight. (Repeat 1,000x until losing breath. Then resume.) In all seriousness, the way the Celtics have played the last two games meant the Celtics could absolutely lose to a Hornets team clawing and scraping for a final playoff spot.
The Boston Celtics are a fairly predictable bunch. On paper, even without Isaiah Thomas, the Celtics should have been able to hold off the Sixers because they are, in fact, a better team. But Philly was better today when it mattered.
The Boston Celtics are surging upward. By contrast, the Chicago Bulls are in free-fall, having lost 6 of 10, choking to death on poor motivation, star ego, terrible offense, a misfit coach and (sadly, for me) the slow angry death of Rajon Rondo’s NBA career.
