Report: Dave Brundage will not manage Triple A IronPigs in 2017
Offseason changes already starting in the farm system Coming off his most sucessful season as manager of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, it appears Dave Brundage will be looking for a new job in 2017. According to a report from Tom Housenick of The Morning Call , the Phillies have opted not to bring Brundage back to coach the Triple-A affiliate in 2017.

An updated who’s who of Phillies prospects
Pitcher of the first half Jake Thompson, righthander, triple-A Lehigh Valley Thompson rolled into the triple-A all-star break with a 0.73 ERA in his seven starts since June 1. The 22-year-old took some time to get set in triple A, but he was dominant once he did.

Stat Attack: The Phillies pitching staff leads Major League Baseball with 240 strikeouts in 207.1 innings pitched and their WHIP (1.17) is ranked 6th. The Phillies offense has posted an OPS of .661, which ranks 28th in baseball. That needs to improve, as they’ve only scored 76 runs, which ranks 27th.

Phillies’ General Manager, Matt Klentak, continued adding to the organization in the second week of the off season. Following the waiver acquisition of RHP Dan Otero on November 2nd, the Phillies FA LHP James Russell on November 12th and traded for Arizona Diambacks’ RHP Jeremy Hellickson.

Phillies Complete Deal for Arizona’s Hellickson
MLBTR reported that Jim Salisbury tweeted that the Phillies and D’Backs are working on a trade that would bring RHP Jeremy Hellickson to Philaelphia. He is in the last year of arbitration and becomes a first time free agent in 2017. His agent has negotiated deals to avoid arbitration the past two seasons
